The working principle of the traditional inductive sensor is: a high-frequency magnetic field is generated by the coil oscillator, the traditional circuit of the inductive sensor, and sent out through the induction surface. Any metal entering the magnetic field will absorb energy, and the electronic device built into the sensor detects the change in the magnetic field and calculates how much energy the metal absorbs.


Ferromagnetic metals (steel, nickel, cobalt) absorb the most energy, so this type of metal can reach the maximum detection distance. Non-ferromagnetic metals with good conductivity, such as aluminum, absorb less energy, so the detection distance is greatly shortened (about 25%-45% of steel).
